Frequently Asked Questions
We pride ourselves on speed and responsiveness. Because we have dedicated resources based right here in Tampa Bay, we can typically be on-site to perform a grid test within 24 to 48 hours of scheduling, ensuring your project timeline faces minimal disruption.
To ensure the test is valid for your Certificate of Occupancy, most AHJs will require the building to be near final completion, often at the punch list stage. At a minimum, all interior and exterior wall coverings, windows, and doors must be installed. These materials can significantly impact radio signal strength, and testing before they are in place may result in an inaccurate reading that the fire marshal could reject, forcing a re-test and causing project delays.
Some of our customers choose to have an unofficial preliminary test done during the early “dried-in” stages. The logic is simple: if a building fails the test in this open state, the signal will only degrade further as signal-blocking materials are added. This pre-test gives you an early warning, allowing you to budget and plan for a potential ERRCS system well in advance and preventing surprises right before your final inspection.
A failed test is not a dead end—it’s the first step toward a solution. If your building doesn’t meet the required signal strength, we provide you with a detailed report identifying the problem areas and a firm quote for the design and installation of a compliant ERRCS/BDA system. Our in-house engineering team enables us to provide rapid turnaround on solutions and helps our GC partners minimize project delays.
We serve the entire Tampa Bay metropolitan area and surrounding counties, including Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, and Manatee. If your project is in West Central Florida and beyond, we have you covered.
